Malaga’s Climate

Malaga's astonishing climate is one of the main reasons for expatriates’ migration into the city. The city is endowed with a Mediterranean climate and the summers appear to be lengthy, warm and dry, while the winters are cool and calm.
There has never been any European city with a population of over 500,000 that is warmer than Malaga even between June and September that is taken to be the hottest period of the year; the temperatures is likely to be around 30°C. It is an uncommon occurrence for the mercury to go below freezing point in Malaga. The winters are warm when compared with that of other cities in Europe because the Malaga Mountains serve as shields against the weather from the north.

The official summer period in Malaga is between April and November, but the climate remains pleasurable for the rest of the remaining six months of the year. This has been the reason tourists come on a visit and expatriates move into this popular haven-Malaga.
